Backsplash can be added in any bathroom or kitchen and if it has been designed properly, it can make the space look even better. The good news is that backsplash does not have to be expensive to add character and style to a room.

Here are 6 backsplash design ideas for your kitchen or bathroom that will meet any budget:

  • Thermoplastic panels: Thermoplastic panels can be installed easily and they are available in many styles and colors. The material can be cut with scissors and then mounted on the wall with either caulk or double sided tape.

  • Beadboard: Beadboard is an inexpensive option that can be painted any color to match the room. This is a great way to add a focal point or a pop of color to one of your rooms. To prevent water from seeping into the seams, you will want to seal them with waterproof caulk.

  • Mirrors: Using mirrors as a backsplash will add dimension and light to your kitchen. The mirrors will make it seem like you can see through the walls and the light that reflects off of the mirrors will make your countertop space seem brighter.

  • Subway tiles: Subway tiles have been used for backsplashes for years, because it matches any style. You can choose from multiple colors and you can use the tiles to create a pop of color in either room.

  • Tile and Mosaics: Tiles can be mixed with mosaics to create a backsplash with visual interest that won’t cost a lot of money. The mosaics can be as simple as a row or two with tiles covering the rest of the backsplash.

  • Peel and Stick wallpaper: Peel and stick wallpaper is available in many floral, geometric, speckled, or lattice designs that will add character to any kitchen or bathroom. It is quite easy to measure the wallpaper for the backsplash and then peel and stick it to the wall.

Many people love adding backsplash to their kitchens and bathrooms, because it makes the walls easier to clean and it adds color and design to an otherwise boring space. However, you do not need to spend a lot of money on your backsplash, because these versions above will make the space look wonderful.
